Objective of Job

The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the performance of the national Retailer Network (Agents) in order to achieve smart UK new and used car sales objectives. This will include monitoring sales KPIs from lead generation and enquiry management to order, monitoring demonstrators/courtesy cars programs, and customer satisfaction.

Task Description

  • Building strong strategic relationships with the retailer network including negotiation and management of new and used car sales performance.
  • Hands‑on performance coaching and best practice sharing within the retailer network and the sales team.
  • Act as a main point of contact for your retailers while supporting the needs of the broader business.
  • Manage representation plan within market areas of responsibility and develop annual volume plan for retailer partners and monitor performance against sales targets and key KPIs by identifying issues and developing action plans in conjunction with the rest of the UK team.
  • Ensure that retailer standards and requirements are implemented and maintained.
  • Plan and coordinate on‑site audits by developing action plans to address issues in the case of non‑compliance.
  • Provide sales and ordering forecasts based on local trends, planned campaigns and retailer feedback to the local logistic team.
  • Ensure and support excellent operations and evolve a highly automated and lean distribution by supporting logistics function to minimize unsold stock pipeline.
  • Manage and coordinate local campaigns together with Marketing according to the targets in order to achieve the goals or close any gaps.
  • Identify sales training requirements and support localisation of training programs.
  • Represent the brand at national and retailer events and support local product launch activities.

Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • 3-5 years Automotive experience OEM or Retail Network, preferably sales.
  • Experience in performance management of retailers and monitoring of standards.
  • Experience or knowledge of E-commerce.
  • A good understanding of financial instruments including PCP, leasing and rental products.
  • Preferably experience with new retail channels, customer behaviour/trends, digital transformation, and new mobility.

Education

  • A bachelor’s or a higher degree preferably in a commercial or technical area.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and able to consistently reach positive outcomes while building positive internal and external relationships.
  • A strong customer-oriented mindset characterised by easily understanding how to deliver high customer loyalty and retention.
  • High level interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate market developments by identifying, and proactively responding to, business opportunities and challenges.
  • Analytical abilities and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; any other European language is a plus.
  • Creative in mastering challenges and achieving ambitious objectives.
  • A pragmatic approach and willingness to work beyond traditional role boundaries in a lean environment.
