Special Needs Teaching Assistant Location: South Harrow (Primary & Secondary Site) and Neasden (Post-16 Site) Salary: £80-£90 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) PAYE. No Umbrella companies Start Date: January 2025 / ASAP Contract Type: Part-time / Full-time / Supply Basis with the opportunity for a long term post About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team working across two sites in North West London. You will be supporting pupils with Autism across the Primary & Secondary site in South Harrow. The role involves working with students aged 11-19 who have Autism, supporting them in their academic and personal development. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will have the chance to develop your expertise across both the primary and secondary age range. Staff work closely together to ensure students are supported to achieve their full potential, fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Key Responsibilities Support students with Autism in both group and one-to-one settings. Assist in the development and delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons. Provide personal care where necessary, ensuring the students’ well-being and safety. Support the students in developing social skills, independence, and confidence. Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and support staff. The Ideal Candidate The ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant will: Have a genuine passion for working with students with Autism. Be compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting students in a non-mainstream setting. Be able to plan and deliver engaging, fun, and inclusive activities. Be comfortable with providing personal care when required. Hold a current Child and Adult DBS.
