About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a Ofsted rated "Outstanding" SEMH Primary School in Hayes starting in September 2026. This role involves working with a small Primary class of six students with Autism. These students also present with challenging behaviour and require a highly supportive and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the unique needs of each student
- Employ strategies to support students with sensory impairments and severe learning difficulties
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours effectively, fostering a safe and nurturing classroom environment
- Work closely with support staff and specialists to provide individualized educational support
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods to help each child achieve their potential
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to SEND education and an understanding of complex communication needs. We’re looking for someone who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience with children who have Autism (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, and other communication systems (training available)
- A patient, compassionate, and positive teaching approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
