Role Introduction:
We are an award-winning, industry leading PropTech company, developing pioneering tech platforms for building management systems, control and communication. We are a rapidly growing, successful scale-up, and are looking for talented and highly motivated individuals who are ready to help take us to the next level.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive platform team lead with a strong background in DevOps, AWS and security. This role will guide our DevOps team in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools necessary for scalable, secure, and efficient software delivery and monitoring. Security is critical to our application, which is used by large enterprise customers; this role will be responsible for improving our current standards (SOC 2 and ISO27001) to maintain a secure environment to protect customer data as well as maintaining best practices for the cloud. We are looking for someone who can lead and mentor the platform team as well as having solid technical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the platform engineering team, fostering growth, collaboration, and best practices
- Work with the security team to maintain a secure infrastructure to SOC 2 and ISO27001 standard
- Optimise the cloud environment to reduce costs
- Extend our automation solutions for infrastructure and application deployment and monitoring
- Improve on our CI/CD pipeline (TeamCity and Octopus Deploy)
- Improve and develop monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, and in-house applications (C# / .NET)
- Maintain and improve application reliability in production
- Collaborate with QA for automated testing tasks
- Develop solutions to enhance the developer experience
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps and AWS
- Ownership of CI/CD systems, especially if with TeamCity and Octopus Deploy
- Strong understanding of Continuous Delivery, Site Reliability, and Developer Experience practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with our security, development and product teams
Desirable Skills:
- 2+ years of C#
- Experience in mentoring, technical leadership, or leading small teams
- Proficiency with IaC tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
- DBA skills, especially with SQL Server
- Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, OCI)
