Outstanding opportunity to join this global technology consulting business who specialise in delivering enterprise scale architectures specifically for the global retail sector.
We’re looking for a Domain Architect (Enterprise Solution Architect) with deep expertise across ERP (SAP preferred), digital platforms, and in-store retail systems (inc. PoS, Pricing & Promotion). You’ll define and evolve the architecture for some of the most business-critical domains in this infamous grocer from core merchandising and supply chain platforms to customer-facing digital journeys and store technologies. This is a strategic, high-visibility role where you’ll shape the future of our technology landscape, ensuring our systems are modern, scalable, and aligned to our transformation roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Own the domain architecture across ERP, digital, and retail store systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business strategy.
- Define target architectures, roadmaps, and transition states for key domains including merchandising, supply chain, finance, eCommerce, POS, and store operations.
- Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to translate strategic goals into actionable architectural direction.
- Govern solution design across programmes and projects, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to standards.
- Evaluate new technologies, vendors, and integration approaches to support modernisation and innovation.
- Provide architectural leadership across cloud adoption, data flows, integration patterns, and security models.
- Support major transformation initiatives such as ERP modernisation, digital platform evolution, and store technology refresh programmes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Domain Architect, Solution Architect, or Senior Technical Lead within retail or large-scale consumer environments.
- Strong understanding of ERP platforms (SAP preferred) and their role in retail operations.
- Experience with digital platforms such as eCommerce, customer apps, content management, and order management systems.
- Deep knowledge of retail store systems including POS, store operations, inventory, pricing & promotion.
- Strong architectural grounding across applications, integration, data, cloud and security.
- Ability to define clear architectural principles, patterns, and roadmaps.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and influencing technical direction.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-led design.
- Exposure to retail supply chain technologies (WMS, OMS, RFID, forecasting).
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SAFe).
- Understanding of modern data platforms and analytics capabilities.
