About the Role
Smart Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Yard Operative to join a busy recycling operation based in Sheffield. This is a hands-on role where you will play an important part in the recycling process, ensuring waste materials are safely moved, sorted, and stored on site. You will also assist with operating processing equipment and maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the yard. An FLT licence is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Moving, sorting, and storing waste materials safely and efficiently
- Assisting with the recycling process and daily yard operations
- Operating processing plant equipment, including shredders
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidiness across the site
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Supporting other site duties as required
Requirements
- FLT licence preferred but not essential
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good awareness of health and safety procedures
