Pay: £14.15 per hour as a Trainee Team Leader
Qualified Team Leader: £14.70 per hour
Overtime: Paid at 150% of the basic rate, subject to terms and conditions
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off
Industry: Waste / Recycling / Production
Training: Full training provided
About the Role
Smart Solutions are recruiting for a Trainee Team Leader / Team Leader to join our client's busy production operation in London.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous team leading experience who is looking to develop their skills within a production, waste or recycling environment.
Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to progress from Trainee Team Leader (£14.15 per hour) to Team Leader (£14.70 per hour) once fully trained and competent in the role.
Working Pattern
The role operates on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern:
- 2 day shifts
- 2 night shifts
- Followed by 4 days off
Day shifts: 8:00am - 7:00pm
Night shifts: 8:00pm - 7:00am
Please note that shift start/end times may operate as 7:00am/8:00am - 7:00pm for days and 7:00pm/8:00pm - 7:00am for nights, depending on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise production activities during the shift
- Ensure shift KPIs and operational action plans are met and exceeded where possible
- Support the smooth and efficient running of the production operation
- Mentor, monitor and support new starters
- Deliver practical training to new employees
- Train team members on picking techniques and picking priorities
- Ensure employees understand and follow Health & Safety procedures
- Motivate and support the team to achieve daily targets
- Monitor performance and provide guidance where required
- Lead by example and maintain a positive working environment
- Report any operational, performance or Health & Safety issues to management
Requirements
- Communicative level of English
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role within a production environment
- Experience within waste, recycling or production would be an advantage
- Strong motivational and interpersonal skills
- Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable and committed approach to work
