Weighbridge Operator
Location: Stevenage, SG1
Pay Rate: £13.70 per hour / £13.95 per hour with Forklift licence
Hours: Monday to Friday, either 6:00am – 3:00pm or 8:00am – 5:00pm
Overtime: Some Saturdays available at 1.5x
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Smart Solutions are recruiting for a reliable and motivated Weighbridge Operator to join a busy waste and recycling facility in Stevenage.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position, with training and development available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the site weighbridge and accurately record vehicle movements
- Complete weighbridge tickets clearly and accurately
- Grade incoming materials where required
- Maintain accurate paperwork and site records
- Communicate with drivers, customers and site teams
- Follow all site Health & Safety procedures
- Support general site operations where required
- Maintain a professional and organised working environment
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, punctual and self-motivated
- Good attention to detail
- Clear and legible handwriting
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Previous material grading experience is desirable but can be taught
- Previous weighbridge experience would be advantageous
- Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential
- Interested in progressing into a permanent position
Pay & Benefits
- £13.70 per hour without a Forklift licence
- £13.95 per hour with a Forklift licence
- Forklift training may be available in the future
- Saturday overtime paid at time and a half
- Annual bonus available
- Temporary to permanent opportunity
