FLT Operative / Production Operative

Location: Rugby

Pay Rate: Days: £14.01 (days) and £15.12 per hour (Night Shift)

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off

Hours: 7am-7pm and 7:00pm – 7:00am

About the Role: Join a dynamic recycling team where your skills make a real difference to environmental sustainability. We are currently recruiting for a dependable and safety-focused FLT Operative / Production Operative to support our client’s busy recycling operation in Rugby. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced production environment, combining forklift driving with manual operational duties. This role is split approximately 50% FLT work and 50% manual production work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied and active position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate FLT equipment to move materials around site
  • Operate baling machinery as part of production processes
  • Support recycling and production targets through efficient material handling
  • Carry out manual handling and general production duties as required
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and safe systems of work (SSOW)
  • Report hazards, defects, or unsafe behaviour immediately
  • Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid external FLT licence (essential)
  • Previous experience in a recycling, production, warehouse, or industrial environment (preferred)
  • Strong awareness of health & safety practices
  • Comfortable with a 50/50 split between FLT and manual work
  • Reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious attitude
  • Ability to work night shifts on a rotating 4 on / 4 off pattern
