About the Role

We are seeking a skilled 360 Excavator Operator to join our team within a fast-paced, busy recycling and waste management facility in Newport. While a valid ticket is great, we accept lapsed or in-house licenses—what matters most to us is your hands‑on experience, confidence behind the sticks, and commitment to safety. Please note: The client will conduct a practical site assessment prior to your official start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a 360 excavator to sort waste and feed shredders, screens, and other processing equipment.
  • Maintenance & Checks: Carry out daily pre‑operational machine inspections and basic maintenance checks.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all machinery is operated in strict accordance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Site Compliance: Follow environmental and recycling compliance standards at all times.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors and team operatives to meet daily production targets.
  • Reporting: Promptly identify and report any mechanical faults, hazards, or unsafe working conditions.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe working environment and assist with general yard housekeeping and operational duties when required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience & Confidence: Proven experience operating a 360 excavator in a high-volume environment (recycling, waste management, or demolition experience is highly advantageous).
  • Licensing: CPCS / NPORS card preferred, but lapsed or in-house licenses are accepted if you have the skills to back it up.
  • Safety-First Mindset: A strong understanding of on-site health and safety.
  • Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and ready to work a consistent Monday to Friday schedule.
