About the Role

We are currently recruiting for reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers. This is a hands-on role involving the safe operation of a refuse collection vehicle and working alongside loaders to complete waste and recycling collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) refuse collection vehicle
  • Maneuver large vehicles through residential and commercial streets
  • Carry out waste and recycling collections in line with daily routes
  • Conduct daily walk-around vehicle checks (brakes, tyres, lifting mechanisms) and report defects
  • Work as part of a team with 1–2 loaders to ensure efficient operations
  • Complete all route sheets and vehicle logs accurately
  • Adhere to all HGV driving hours, health & safety, and environmental regulations
  • Provide a professional and courteous service when dealing with the public

Requirements

  • Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
  • Valid CPC Card
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous experience driving Class 2 vehicles (refuse experience desirable)
  • Strong awareness of road safety and vehicle operation
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically fit with strong manual handling ability
