About the Role
We are currently recruiting for reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers. This is a hands-on role involving the safe operation of a refuse collection vehicle and working alongside loaders to complete waste and recycling collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) refuse collection vehicle
- Maneuver large vehicles through residential and commercial streets
- Carry out waste and recycling collections in line with daily routes
- Conduct daily walk-around vehicle checks (brakes, tyres, lifting mechanisms) and report defects
- Work as part of a team with 1–2 loaders to ensure efficient operations
- Complete all route sheets and vehicle logs accurately
- Adhere to all HGV driving hours, health & safety, and environmental regulations
- Provide a professional and courteous service when dealing with the public
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
- Valid CPC Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience driving Class 2 vehicles (refuse experience desirable)
- Strong awareness of road safety and vehicle operation
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit with strong manual handling ability
