About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Multi Skilled Operative to join our site in Stallingborough, Grimsby. This is a hands-on role within a busy waste/recycling environment, ideal for candidates with strong plant operation experience and a commitment to health and safety.
Working Hours
- 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 12-hour shifts
- 1-hour unpaid lunch break
- 4 days per week
- No weekends
- Overtime: Occasionally available (may include a 5th working day)
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate site plant including 360 material handlers (with grab attachments), wheeled loading shovels, and potentially other machinery
- Load vehicles, feed shredders, and manage stockpiles efficiently
- Sort waste, scrap metal, or aggregates to remove non-conforming materials and maintain quality control
- Carry out daily pre-start safety and maintenance checks (oil, water, hydraulics, cleaning, greasing)
- Maintain a clean and organised yard or tipping hall
- Adhere strictly to all health & safety regulations and report any faults or near misses
Requirements
- Valid CPCS or NPORS licences for:
- 360 Excavator
- Wheeled Loading Shovel
- FLT
- Previous experience in waste transfer, recycling, or scrap metal environments (highly desirable)
- Strong spatial awareness and ability to work independently
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
