About the Role
We are a leading waste management company providing integrated collection, recycling, and resource recovery services to businesses and local authorities. We are currently looking for an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our team at our Caythorpe site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of waste containers and associated equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Welding
- Carry out MIG welding, cutting, grinding, and general fabrication work.
- Repair and refurbish waste containers and related equipment.
- Inspect and maintain welding and fabrication equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Workshop Duties
- Work effectively as part of the maintenance team and alongside contractors.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Assist with general workshop maintenance activities as required.
- Documentation & Communication
- Complete inspection reports, maintenance records, and equipment checks.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and contractors.
- Report any defects, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly.
- Health & Safety
- Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Use PPE correctly and maintain safe working practices at all times.
- Carry out hot works in accordance with site procedures and regulations.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in MIG welding and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience using fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
- Good understanding of workshop Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Welding certification (e.g. ISO 9606-1).
- IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
- Forklift Truck licence.
- Experience within the waste, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy engineering sectors.
- First Aid or Fire Safety training.
