Working Hours & Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM (Night Shift) Full-time.
About the Role: Our client is seeking Maintenance Fitters to carry out planned and responsive maintenance and repair works in line with the operational maintenance plan. You will be responsible for improving operational reliability and availability of plant, machinery, and site equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out mechanical repair and maintenance, including fault finding, diagnosis, and rectification.
- Perform inspections, adjustments, refurbishments, and improvements to agreed standards.
- General bench fitting including keys, shafts, pulleys, gears, couplings, and bearings.
- Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems using technical drawings and manuals.
- Installation and maintenance of gear reducers and clutch systems.
- Basic MIG and MMA welding and fabrication tasks.
- Maintenance of waste processing equipment including shredders, trommels, separators, conveyors, silos, hoppers, and balers.
- Rigging, slinging, and acting as banksman for lifting operations.
- Maintain safe working practices and ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Record maintenance work accurately on CMMS/maintenance systems.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Completed Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship OR NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance within recycling, quarrying, heavy industry or process environments.
- Knowledge of bearings, gear systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Experience in safe isolation and permit-to-work systems.
- Basic MIG/MMA welding and steel fabrication experience.
Desirable Skills (Not Essential):
- Rigging & slinging certification.
- IPAF / MEWP training.
- Working at height / harness training.
- Abrasive wheels certification.
- FLT / telehandler licence.
- IOSH Working Safely.
- Condition monitoring experience.
- Experience with conveyor systems and waste processing equipment.
