Location: Dewsbury
We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our client in Dewsbury, operating 18t–26t curtain-sider vehicles across the local area. This is a hands-on role suited to a professional driver who takes pride in safe driving, compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.
Duties:
- Driving HGV Class 2 curtain-sider vehicles safely and efficiently
- Collecting and transporting waste materials including aerosols, oily rags, and paint
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Using handheld or tablet devices to complete vehicle and job records
- Following all transport, site, and road safety regulations
- Providing a professional service to customers
- Supporting the depot and transport team when required
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
- ADR and Moffett qualifications preferred but not essential
- Experience with hazardous waste or curtain-sider vehicles is advantageous
- Reliable and safety-focused approach
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility for early starts from 4:30am
Pay and Benefits:
- £14.50 per hour
- 45-hour guaranteed week
- Overtime paid at x1.5 after 45 hours
- £10 early start bonus for shifts starting before 4:30am
- £3 daily meal allowance
- £26.50 night allowance where applicable
- Full PPE and uniform provided
- Company pension scheme
