Regional Load Shovel Operator - Immediate Start | £500 Starting Bonus
Location: Lancashire Region (Base site: Colne BB8 8LB)
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Hours: 47.5 hours per week (9.5 hours per day, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Start Time: 6:00am

- £250 after 6 weeks' successful service
- £250 after 12 weeks' successful service
We are seeking an experienced Regional Load Shovel Operator to support multiple waste transfer stations across Lancashire. While based primarily from Colne, you will be part of a regional team covering sites including Colne, Darwen, Preston (Redscar), Blackpool and Lancaster (Salt Ayre). We aim to place operators at sites closest to home where possible, however travel between sites will be required.
5-Week Rolling Rota
- Week 1: Mon-Fri (Sat/Sun off)
- Week 2: Mon-Fri (Sat/Sun off)
- Week 3: Mon-Thu & Sun (Fri/Sat off)
- Week 4: Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat/Sun (Wed/Thu off)
- Week 5: Tue-Sat (Mon/Sun off)
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a loading shovel safely and efficiently.
- Load, move and process waste and recyclable materials.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
- Maintain safe loading areas and clear spillages.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and site rules.
- Support weighbridge and operational activities when required.
- Work collaboratively across multiple sites.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Load Shovel licence/certificate.
- Previous loading shovel operating experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety.
- Reliable, flexible approach with ability to travel between sites.
- Immediate availability preferred.
