Smart Solutions is currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy Trade Waste operation based from our Birmingham depot. This is a great opportunity for drivers looking for steady afternoon shifts, paid breaks, strong hourly rates, and regular overtime opportunities with a well-established operation.
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday 1:00pm starts until finish
- Occasional Saturday overtime available
- All breaks paid
Pay & Benefits
- £17.98 per hour
- Overtime paid at x1.25 after 40 hours

The Role
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs)
- Carry out commercial and trade waste collections across planned routes
- Collect and empty wheeled bin containers safely and efficiently
- Plan routes effectively to maximise productivity
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with DVSA standards
- Follow all waste duty of care regulations and company health & safety procedures
- Deliver a professional and reliable service at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous waste sector experience preferred
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Reliable with strong timekeeping and a professional attitude
- Safety-focused with good communication skills
