Smart Solutions is currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy Trade Waste operation based from our Birmingham depot. This is a great opportunity for drivers looking for steady afternoon shifts, paid breaks, strong hourly rates, and regular overtime opportunities with a well-established operation.

Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Friday 1:00pm starts until finish
  • Occasional Saturday overtime available
  • All breaks paid

Pay & Benefits

  • £17.98 per hour
  • Overtime paid at x1.25 after 40 hours
  • Paid breaks

The Role

  • Safely operate HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs)
  • Carry out commercial and trade waste collections across planned routes
  • Collect and empty wheeled bin containers safely and efficiently
  • Plan routes effectively to maximise productivity
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with DVSA standards
  • Follow all waste duty of care regulations and company health & safety procedures
  • Deliver a professional and reliable service at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
  • Valid Driver CPC
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous waste sector experience preferred
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
  • Reliable with strong timekeeping and a professional attitude
  • Safety-focused with good communication skills
