HGV Class 2 Driver – Waste Collection (AM Shift)
Location: Landor Street, Birmingham, B8 Pay: £15.59 per hour Overtime: £19.49 per hour after 40 hours worked per week Hours: Monday to Friday, start time between 2:00am and 4:00am
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our growing waste collection team on the AM shift.
You will be responsible for collecting commercial and industrial waste across Birmingham and the surrounding areas while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate an HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicle.
- Collect commercial and industrial waste from customer sites.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks before each shift.
- Follow planned collection routes and schedules.
- Ensure collections are completed safely and efficiently.
- Complete all collection paperwork accurately.
- Maintain excellent customer service while representing the company.
- Comply with Road Traffic Regulations and company Health & Safety procedures.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or incidents promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
- Work closely with the transport and operations teams to ensure collections are completed on time.
Essential Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of UK driving regulations.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit, as manual handling is required.
Desirable
- Previous experience in waste collection, recycling, or a similar driving role.
- Knowledge of Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
