Smart Solutions is currently recruiting for reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy Waste & Recycling operation. This is a hands-on driving role offering steady weekday work, consistent hours, and weekends off, with the opportunity to join a well-established company delivering essential waste collection services to commercial and industrial customers.

The Role

  • Safely operate an HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicle on scheduled and ad hoc collection routes
  • Collect commercial, industrial, and environmental waste safely and efficiently
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks before and after each shift
  • Ensure waste is loaded, transported, and tipped safely in line with company procedures
  • Complete route paperwork and digital records accurately
  • Report vehicle defects promptly and maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Work to health & safety standards at all times

Loading & Handling Duties

  • Assist with loading and unloading waste materials where required
  • Use handling equipment such as tail lifts, pallet trucks, and trolleys safely
  • Support sorting and segregation of waste in line with recycling and disposal regulations
  • Follow safe manual handling practices at all times

Customer Interaction

  • Represent the company professionally while on collection routes
  • Deliver a reliable service to customers
  • Respond positively to customer queries and report any issues promptly

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
  • Valid CPC Card
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Experience driving large goods vehicles
  • Good understanding of driver hours, transport legislation, and road safety
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and professional attitude
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on duties where required
