Smart Solutions is currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers on behalf of our client based in the Bromborough area of the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established national company within the growing waste and recycling industry, offering stable work, excellent rates of pay, overtime opportunities, and long-term career prospects.
The Role
As a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be working with a team of loaders collecting household waste across local residential routes. Drivers are expected to support the crew with loading duties when required, so applicants must be physically fit and willing to work as part of a team.
What We Offer
- £18.32 per hour
- Overtime paid at 150%
- Monday to Friday work

Working Hours
Start time: 06:15am Monday to Friday. Additional weekend work available.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Cat C) Licence
- Valid CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum 6 penalty points
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and willing to assist with loading duties
- Previous waste industry experience beneficial but not essential
- Driving: 1 year (preferred)
- HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (preferred)
- Driver CPC (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting household waste across local routes
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks
- Completing all relevant paperwork accurately
- Reporting delays, defects, contamination, or access issues
- Working safely and in line with company procedures
- Supporting loaders with collections when required
