Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for 3.5 tonne van drivers to support a local council project delivering new food waste containers to residents across the Edinburgh and Midlothian area. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated team delivering essential services to the local community, working with modern vehicles and reliable daytime hours.
The Role
- Driving a 3.5-tonne Luton tail lift van
- Delivering food waste containers to residential properties
- Completing deliveries safely, efficiently, and on time
- Manual handling and lifting using the tail lift
- Assisting with loading/unloading at the depot
- Organising stock to maximise van space
- Working as part of a team of 2–6 staff to meet daily targets
Candidate Requirements
- Valid Category B driving licence (held for minimum 2 years)
- Must meet insurance criteria
- Maximum 6 penalty points
- No CD, DD, DG, DR, IN or TT offence codes
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 23kg
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Previous van driving experience required
