About the role

As a Youth Tutor, you will work closely with students to provide individualised tutoring sessions, support their learning needs, and inspire them to achieve their potential.

Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) is a Welsh Government initiative that provides work experience and training opportunities to young people and unemployed individuals, enhancing their employability and supporting job creation in various sectors.

Your impact

  • Delivering training sessions using a variety of teaching methods to engage, support, and motivate learners to enhance their skills and progression opportunities.
  • Develop creative lesson plans incorporating differentiated teaching styles and activities to ensure a quality learning experience.
  • Planning and supporting the learner in their individual learning journey.
  • Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications to a quality standard in a timely fashion.

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Previous experience working as a tutor, trainer, or mentor for young people with a classroom environment.
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification or Degree equivalent.
  • Good level of Math and English GCSE C, Level 5 or above.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support young people in a learning environment.
  • Ability to plan lessons, assess learner progress, and provide feedback effectively.
