Pay: 17.00 - 21.00 per hour (DOE)

Hours: 45 hours per week rotating day and night shifts

  • Day Shift: 1 x 12-hour shift per week
  • Night Shift: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Overtime: Paid after 45 hours

Smart Solutions is recruiting a skilled Fixed Plant Fitter to join a busy waste management and recycling facility in Ancaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer or fitter looking for a long-term role within a fast-paced industrial environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the site’s fixed plant machinery operates safely, reliably and efficiently while contributing to continuous improvements across the operation.

The Role

As a Fixed Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a range of fixed plant and mechanical equipment, including conveyors, shredders, balers and associated machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on fixed plant machinery and site equipment.
  • Inspect, service and repair conveyors, shredders, balers and other mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and support emergency repairs.
  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance schedules.
