Smart Solutions is currently recruiting a Class 2 Trade Waste Driver for our client based in Glamorgan, SA1 area. Our client is a leader in waste management services. As Class 2 Trade Waste Driver you will collect and transport commercial waste using our modern fleet. The right candidate must have a strong route knowledge of the Swansea region and commitment to sustainability; you'll thrive in a role that balances independence with team collaboration.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate HGV refuse/recycling vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects as required
- Work as part of a team to collect household, commercial, and recyclable waste
- Assist with loading and unloading waste when not driving
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Interact professionally with members of the public when required
- Complete relevant paperwork and log sheets accurately
- Facilitate collection of wheeled bin containers
- Plan efficient routes to maximise productivity and minimise environmental impact
- Provide professional and courteous customer service
- Report any issues, delays, or incidents promptly
Person Specification:
- Full UK Driving Licence with Category C (HGV Class 2) entitlement
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience in waste or recycling operations (preferred but not essential)
- Good level of physical fitness and willingness to carry out manual tasks
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- A team player with a positive and professional attitude
