About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy waste and recycling operation in East Lothian. This is a hands-on, varied role working across multiple departments, supporting the maintenance, repair, and reliability of site equipment, HGV vehicles, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated engineer who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and take ownership of maintenance tasks across a busy industrial site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault finding across site equipment
- Work on hydraulic systems, HGV vehicles, and mobile plant machinery
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
- Support planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
- Work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical maintenance and repair experience
- Experience working with hydraulics and HGV or heavy plant equipment
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Good awareness of health & safety practices

Pay & Benefits
- Up to £18 per hour
- Monday to Friday daytime working hours
- Overtime available as required (paid after 46.5 hours)
