Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for anLGV Class 1 Driver (Wagon & Drag)to join our successful client,Associated Waste Management (AWM), based at theLeeds Valley Farmdepot.
LGV Class 1 Driver (Wagon & Drag) Duties & Responsibilities
The right candidate will be responsible for safely operatingClass 1 HGV vehicles with a wagon & drag setupto transport waste materials between locations.
This role requires a strong awareness of road safety and excellent driving skills. While it is less physically demanding than refuse collection, youll still need to be comfortable working in a waste and recycling environment and adapting to changing conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely drive and operate Class 1 (C+E) wagon & drag HGV vehicles
- Transport waste materials between AWM sites and customer locations
- Follow daily scheduled routes and instructions from the transport team
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and legal requirements
- Conduct vehicle checks and report any faults or defects promptly
LGV Class 1 Driver Person Specification
- A valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Up-to-dateDriver CPCandDigital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience in waste & recycling transport is an advantage
- Strong work ethic and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
