An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Roller Shutter & Industrial Door Engineer to join an established and growing specialist engineering company covering the South of England. The company specialises in the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of industrial doors and security systems, with a significant amount of work carried out within government and other high-security facilities.
We are looking for a strong engineer who is confident working on roller shutters and industrial doors, with solid installation and maintenance experience. Due to the nature of the contracts, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check and must be able to successfully obtain clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of roller shutters and industrial doors.
- Planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
- Fault finding, repairs and breakdown response.
- Mechanical adjustments and component replacement.
- Diagnosing faults and providing effective solutions.
- Completing service reports and relevant paperwork.
- Working directly with customers and maintaining a professional standard of service.
- Travelling to customer sites across the South of England.
- Working within government, commercial and other secure facilities.
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong previous experience working with roller shutters and/or industrial doors.
- Good installation and maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and practical engineering ability.
- Experience fault finding and carrying out repairs.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good customer-facing and communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to successfully obtain a DBS clearance.
Candidates with experience in industrial doors, roller shutters, sectional doors, high-speed doors, automatic doors or associated access equipment are encouraged to apply.
Salary & Benefits
- Up to £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
- 39-hour working week.
- Overtime available – paid at flat rate.
- Door-to-door travel time paid.
- All travel time and working hours on site are paid in addition to standby payments.
- Call-out rota with additional standby payments.
- Permanent position with an established specialist company.
- Company vehicle and equipment provided as required.
- Regular work within government and secure facilities.
DBS Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, engineers will regularly attend government facilities and other secure buildings. Candidates must therefore be willing and able to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process.
