London – Site Based
Permanent, Full-Time
I’m recruiting for a Senior Security Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join a well-established, high-end electronic security integrator delivering complex projects across commercial and construction environments in London.
This is a senior, hands-on technical role for an engineer who sets the standard on site. You’ll be trusted to work autonomously, take ownership of installation quality, and act as the senior technical presence during delivery, testing and handover.
If you’re experienced, detail-focused and enjoy being relied on for technical accuracy rather than micromanaged, this is a standout opportunity.
The Role
This position sits at senior engineer level and focuses on installation quality, device-level configuration, testing and system readiness across integrated security systems.
You’ll be heavily involved in CCTV and Access Control, with exposure to intruder and fire systems, ensuring everything is correctly installed, powered, tested and ready for commissioning and handover.
This is not a design or management role. Instead, you’ll be the person on site who ensures systems are installed properly and work as intended.
Key responsibilities include:
- High-quality installation and system readiness across fire & security systems
- Device configuration, testing and verification prior to handover
- Supporting testing and commissioning by ensuring systems are operational and compliant
- Diagnosing and resolving installation and device-level faults
- Escalating integration or networking issues to specialist teams where required
- Acting as the senior technical point of contact on site
- Supporting and guiding junior engineers and apprentices
- Completing accurate installation, testing and handover documentation
- Ensuring compliance with British Standards and health & safety requirements
- Feeding back practical improvements to installation and delivery processes
Technical Environment
- Strong focus on CCTV and Access Control
- Integrated exposure to intruder and fire systems
- IP-based systems including PoE, IP addressing and device configuration
- Collaboration with internal IT and specialist teams for integration and sign-off
Location & Travel
- London-based client sites
- Role designed around public transport travel
- Monthly travel costs covered (Zones 1–2)
- No requirement for a company vehicle or transporting heavy equipment
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience delivering fire & security installations in commercial or construction settings
- Strong working knowledge of CCTV and Access Control systems
- Experience testing and preparing systems for handover
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of installation quality
- Confidence supervising and supporting less experienced engineers
- Professional, client-facing communication style
- High standards around safety, documentation and compliance
- Ability to pass background vetting and security clearance
- Valid ECS Card
- Manufacturer training (e.g. Paxton, Avigilon, Gallagher) advantageous
Salary & Package
- £46,000 – £50,000 basic salary
- Paid on-call rota
- Monthly travel costs covered
- Company phone, tools, uniform and PPE
- Fully funded, role-relevant training and certifications
- Employee ownership scheme (after qualifying period)
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
Why This Role Stands Out
- Senior, respected technical position
- High-quality, well-managed projects
- Clear standards and proper training
- Trusted autonomy on site
- Long-term stability within a professional, engineering-led environment
