I’m recruiting on behalf of an established NSI Gold accredited electronic fire protection and security provider operating throughout London and the South East. Continued growth in the region has created new openings for experienced engineers who want a permanent role with strong earnings, access to recognised training programmes and clear routes to progress across the industry.
The work covers residential customers, small and medium enterprises and education sites across the South East counties. Engineers generally operate in supportive small-team environments while benefiting from the organisation and stability associated with larger, well-structured businesses.
The role will involve:
- Installation first fix works such as cabling and containment
- Second fix installation of equipment and commissioning support
- Planned preventative maintenance visits
- Fault finding and reactive repairs
- Configuration of IP and analogue CCTV including Hikvision type systems
- Access control and door entry installations using Paxton Net2 style platforms
- Dual Com monitoring devices and communication hardware
- Installation of conventional and wireless intruder alarm systems on Texecom and Pyronix platforms
- Completion of job administration in real time
- Working in line with NSI codes of practice for installation, commissioning and maintenance
- Flexibility to work on a variety of projects lasting from one day to several weeks
- Security screening processes required for the position
- Mentoring apprentices or trainees when needed
- Care and maintenance of supplied equipment including vans, phones, uniform and tools
Engineers are ideally expected to have:
- 2–3 years minimum experience as a Security Installation Engineer
- Strong background in CCTV and Access Control
- Good IP knowledge required for networked CCTV and access workloads
- Working understanding of intruder alarms
- Confident fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- PC / IT literacy
- Awareness of health and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively
- Full manual UK driving licence
- Willingness to attend certified training to enhance skill set
- Professional, enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised approach
- Preparedness to take part in the emergency on-call rota
- NSSA Security Screening is required
Package:
- £34,000 – £45,000 basic salary DOE
- Excellent additional earnings through overtime and on call
