The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Sheffield. The role will involve working on a wide range of rotating equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and associated mechanical components, both in the workshop and occasionally on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strip, inspect, repair, and reassemble rotating equipment

  • Carry out fault finding, diagnosis, and remedial work

  • Mechanical fitting, alignment, and testing of equipment

  • Working to technical drawings and engineering standards

  • Ensure quality and health & safety standards are met at all times

  • Occasional site work to support installations or urgent repairs

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter working with rotating machinery

  • Strong understanding of pumps, gearboxes, motors, and associated systems

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics

  • Apprentice trained or relevant mechanical engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC)

  • Full UK driving licence preferred

  • Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
