I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding fire and security contractor operating across London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of installation work, they are looking to bring an experienced Fire & Security Installation Engineer into their dedicated installations team. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity offering stability, strong earning potential and access to ongoing training with a business that has an excellent reputation across residential, commercial and education-sector clients.

The Role

You’ll be working across London and the surrounding counties installing fire and security systems into:

  • Residential properties
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises
  • Education sector sites

Installations vary in size and duration, ranging from one-day jobs through to larger projects lasting several weeks. Engineers typically work in small, supportive teams while benefiting from strong technical backup and structured processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • First and second fix installation works
  • Installing intruder alarm systems (primarily Texecom and Pyronix)
  • Installing access control and door entry systems, mainly Paxton Net2
  • Installing IP and analogue CCTV systems, including Hikvision platforms
  • Installing conventional and wireless fire alarm systems (including Advanced, Apollo and Kentec)
  • Emergency lighting installation
  • Dualcom monitoring and associated communication devices
  • Commissioning, testing and handover of systems
  • Completing job documentation and site records
  • Working in line with NSI codes of practice for installation, commissioning and maintenance
  • Supporting apprentices or junior engineers when required

What They’re Looking For

  • 3 years minimum experience as a Fire & Security Installation Engineer
  • Strong experience across intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire systems
  • Good IP and basic networking knowledge
  • Understanding of compliance, quality standards and health & safety
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Organised, self-motivated and reliable approach
  • Full manual UK driving licence
  • Based within reasonable access to London and the South East (Kent, Surrey, Sussex)
  • Willing to undertake further training and security screening
  • NSSA Security Screening is required

Engineers are actively supported with ongoing development, including:

  • In-house and onsite technical training
  • Access to certified external courses with recognised training providers
  • Opportunities to broaden skillsets across fire and security disciplines
  • Clear progression routes as the business continues to grow
