Job Description
Quality Assistant – £14.00 per Hour, Long-term Temp Role
Crewkerne, Somerset | Monday – Friday | Global Engineering Company
Join a world-leading engineering business to support daily activities within the Quality function, ensuring manufactured and purchased components meet engineering and customer requirements.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Measure manufactured and purchased components against engineering drawings.
- Complete Initial Sample Inspection Reports.
- Carry out daily checks on machining and testing failures and discuss findings with machine and assembly line operatives.
- Perform goods-inwards visual and dimensional sample inspections.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) guidelines.
- Support quality and production activities to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Support the Production Part Approval Process.
- Provide cross-cover for other members of the Quality team as required.
JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings.
- Experience using hand measuring equipment, including but not limited to:
- Digital calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Screw plug and ring gauges
- Plain plug gauges
- Shadowgraph
- Experience with standard inspection and measuring equipment.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to report inspection findings clearly and accurately.
- Flexible, proactive approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
