Job Description

Job Purpose

To build and develop trusted relationships with current and potential clients.

To be responsible for delivering financial planning and wealth management advice.

To work within the context of an agreed business plan.

All advice given to clients must be suitable, tailored and personalised to the client and in line with advice and control policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and develop strong client relationships, delivering exceptional ongoing service to meet client needs, minimizing attrition and generating new business opportunities through referrals and introductions.
  • Deliver tailored financial planning advice and lead professional client meetings, ensuring recommendations are technically accurate, compliant and aligned to clients’ financial objectives, retirement plans, inheritance considerations and tax efficiency needs.
  • Conduct regular client reviews, adapting strategies in line with changing circumstances, risk profiles and long-term financial goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with Investment Management, Professional Services colleagues, and Centres of Influence (COIs) to strengthen client relationships and create business development opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain the New Business Pipeline (NBP) and client records, ensuring all information, valuations, and documentation are accurate, current, and compliant with Group policies.
  • Uphold high professional and regulatory standards by resolving client issues promptly, striving for zero complaints, and undertaking continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance technical expertise.

Qualifications

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Holds a relevant level 4 qualification or above (aspiring for Level 7) and maintains an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing
  • Proven ability to deal with new and existing clients on a fee basis
  • Ability to understand and communicate advice practices and processes clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to analyse client information and highlight requirements to make suitable recommendations
  • Technical/product knowledge and effective communication of wide ranging holistic financial planning strategies & solutions
  • A strong ethic of client service
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise work
  • Ability to understand and communicate advice practices and processes clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of operating within a risk management framework together with a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business
