Wavestone is seeking a Senior AI Product Owner to coordinate the design, delivery, and scaling of agentic AI solutions in a complex, regulated environment (e.g. Banking, Insurance, WAM and Life Science). This role is client-facing and strategic: you will bridge cutting-edge AI capabilities with business value, crafting vision and roadmaps and leading cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready AI products. As the AI Product Owner, you will own end-to-end outcomes, from ideation with senior client stakeholders (CTO/C-suite) through pilot and scalable deployment; while ensuring robust governance, user-centric design, and measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic AI Product Vision & Roadmap: Define a clear product vision for agentic AI use cases, aligning AI innovation with business strategy. Prioritise features that balance technical feasibility with user desirability and tangible value, leveraging market intelligence and customer insight to shape a winning roadmap.
  • Agile Team Leadership & Execution: Lead and inspire a cross-functional agile team (AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Business SMEs and Analysts, Designers) through the full AI solution lifecycle. Drive ideation workshops, backlog prioritisation, sprint planning, and iterative development using tools like Jira/Azure DevOps. Ensure disciplined agile delivery and adapt processes to incorporate AI-assisted development for rapid, high-quality output.
  • Continuous improvement of SDLC for the AI Engineers: Oversee integration of modern AI SDLC best practices into the product development process. Guide the team on a controlled/secure way to utilising appropriate LLMs, agent frameworks, plugins/skills, and data pipelines. Emphasise robust grounding of AI with enterprise knowledge and context to mitigate hallucinations. Manage AI FinOps and observability; monitoring model performance, usage, and costs to optimise efficiency and scalability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management: Act as the conduit between technical teams and business leadership. Communicate complex AI concepts and progress in clear, compelling business terms. Coordinate with leadership and various stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and buy-in. Drive AI adoption and change management efforts, including user communications, trainings and AI-hackathons related to the AI Product you manage.
  • AI Governance, Risk & Compliance: Champion AI governance, security, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle across the appropriate forums. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, from regulatory and ethical considerations to data privacy and operational resilience. Implement strong model monitoring, validation, and quality controls to uphold trust and compliance standards. Ensure the product is delivering on KPIs (user adoption, satisfaction, revenue/cost impact) and continuously optimise post-launch.

Qualifications

  • Industry recognised Business Analysis qualification.
  • Industry recognised Product Owner qualification.
  • Understanding/Experience in Human Centred Design and Design Thinking methodologies would be an advantage.
  • Understanding/Experience of AI for SDLC.
  • Experience in leading and nurturing teams through cultural transformation towards a client-centric approach in product design and delivery.
  • Understanding of regulatory or compliance risk.

Travel and Location

Employees are not required to work in a Wavestone office on a full-time basis but are required to commute to the office/client site, whenever necessary. Wavestone UK office is in the heart of the city of London. Note: Mandatory 2-3 days per week in Wavestone office/client site during probation.
