Job Description

We are seeking talented and accomplished Architects with strong design, leadership and project delivery expertise to join our London studio as Associates. You will lead the delivery of projects across a wide range of sectors and scales, managing multidisciplinary teams and championing design excellence from concept through to completion. Working closely with Associate Directors, Directors and Principals, you will play a key role in project leadership, client relationships, team development and the continued growth of the practice.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for architects looking to expand their leadership responsibilities and progress towards Associate Director and other senior management positions within an internationally recognised design practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership

  • Lead project teams and take ownership of project delivery across a variety of project types and work stages.
  • Manage project delivery in accordance with programme, scope and quality objectives.
  • Coordinate internal teams, consultants and specialist advisors.
  • Support resource planning and project delivery strategies.
  • Contribute to project risk management and quality assurance processes.

Design Leadership

  • Lead design development from concept through to detailed design.
  • Champion design quality and protect project design aspirations.
  • Guide project teams in developing innovative and coordinated design solutions.
  • Oversee the production and review of drawings, models, reports and presentations.
  • Manage integration of structural, MEP and specialist consultant information.

Client & Consultant Management

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead meetings, workshops and design reviews.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support responses to client requests and project changes.
  • Represent 10 Design professionally with clients, consultants and authorities.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee technical design packages and project documentation.
  • Support planning, statutory and regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor quality, coordination and technical compliance.
  • Contribute to construction-stage activities, site reviews and contractor coordination where required.

Team Development

  • Mentor Architects, Project Architects and Architectural Assistants.
  • Support staff development through training and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to recruitment, interviews and team growth initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive studio culture.

Business Development

  • Contribute to bids, proposals and interview presentations.
  • Support the development of client relationships and new business opportunities.
  • Assist with the preparation of fee proposals and project pitches.
  • Represent 10 Design at industry events, professional networks and marketing activities


Qualifications

Education

  • ARB registered Architect (RIBA Part III) or international equivalent.

Experience

  • 8+ years of professional experience within a design-led architectural practice.
  • Demonstrable experience leading project teams and coordinating multidisciplinary consultants.
  • Experience delivering UK and/or international projects.
  • Experience delivering projects in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia and the UAE, would be advantageous..
  • Strong understanding of project delivery across multiple RIBA work stages.
  • Experience managing client relationships and project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable expertise in one or more sectors, including mixed-use, hospitality, residential, commercial, science and research, civic or cultural projects.

  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of project delivery, fees, resources and programme management.
  • Highly organised with strong planning and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to balance design quality, programme and commercial objectives.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, design excellence and built project experience.
  • Interest in mentoring and developing junior team members..

Additional Information

Working Arrangements

  • Right to work in the UK is required.
  • Hybrid working with a minimum of 4 days per week in the London studio.
  • Flexibility depending on project requirements and business needs.
  • Occasional travel may be required for project meetings, workshops and site visits.

This role provides opportunities to expand management, client-facing and business development responsibilities while progressing towards Associate Director and other senior leadership positions within the practice.
