AECOM’s UK Transaction Advisory team is recruiting a Consultant / Senior Consultant to join an established team. Existing advisory mandates and the asset management of mandates in economic and social infrastructure requires the Transaction Advisory team to deliver a range of core project finance services, including PPP / PFI structuring; Lifecycle, Operational and Payment reviews.
As a Consultant/Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality advisory services across a broad range of infrastructure sectors. Here's what you'll do:
- Deliver infrastructure advisory assignments across a variety of sectors, including transport, energy, utilities, social infrastructure, and digital infrastructure.
- Support the execution of project finance and asset management mandates, ensuring high-quality analysis and client deliverables.
- Prepare and review financial, operational, and performance reports for lenders, investors, and funding institutions.
- Assist clients with strategic decision-making through the provision of clear, practical, and commercially focused advice.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and value-added solutions for clients.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and the identification of new opportunities within existing client accounts.
- Support the continuous improvement of advisory methodologies, reporting processes, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
- Mentor and support junior team members (Senior Consultant level), helping to develop technical and professional capabilities.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in the construction, engineering, infrastructure, or built environment sectors, combined with a genuine interest in delivering advisory services across complex infrastructure projects and assets. Ideal candidates will possess some or all of the following:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Project Management or other related infrastructure disciplines.
- Experience working on the development, delivery, operation, financing, or management of infrastructure or capital projects across sectors such as transport, energy, utilities, social infrastructure, real estate, or digital infrastructure.
- Professional membership, or a clear commitment towards achieving chartered status, through recognised industry bodies including MRICS, MCIOB, CEng.
- An understanding of the infrastructure project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, commissioning, operation, and asset management.
- Experience interpreting technical, contractual, commercial, and project information to support decision-making and client advice.
- The ability to analyse complex project data and communicate findings clearly through reports, presentations, and client discussions.
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in the funding, financing, performance, and long-term management of infrastructure assets.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including developers, contractors, investors, lenders, operators, consultants, and public sector organisations.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients and build trusted relationships.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a desire to develop technical expertise, broaden advisory capabilities, and contribute to the growth of a high-performing team.
