We’re recruiting for an Enhanced Annuity Underwriter to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. Legal & General is helping people turn their pension savings into a reliable income and supporting pension schemes in managing long-term liabilities. Within this context, the Enhanced Annuity Underwriter plays a key role in delivering fair, accurate and customer-focused underwriting decisions. Working as part of a collaborative and fast-paced customer service environment, you will assess complex cases, apply sound judgement and contribute to positive outcomes for customers. What you'll be doing:

  • Assessing and underwriting enhanced annuity applications in line with business guidelines and risk frameworks
  • Gathering and evaluating medical, financial and supporting information to inform accurate decision-making
  • Delivering fair and balanced outcomes that meet customer needs while managing financial risk
  • Using product, process and systems knowledge to provide an efficient and high-quality service
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance customer outcomes and service delivery
  • Maintaining accurate records across underwriting and workflow systems

  • Proven experience in medical underwriting, or a strong background in the healthcare/medical field, is required
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and make sound decisions
  • Knowledge of medical risk factors and their impact on underwriting outcomes
  • Good understanding of financial services, market conditions and commercial considerations
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain decisions clearly and effectively
