We’re looking for an experienced and practical *Mechanic* to join our Bristol workshop. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, combining inspections, repairs and vehicle preparation to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.
*The Role*
Working within our workshop, you’ll be responsible for preparing vehicles for hire, carrying out repairs, servicing equipment and ensuring our trucks are maintained to the high standards our customers expect.
You’ll work on a modern fleet of truck-mounted access platforms, supporting both our rental and sales operations.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on rental and sales vehicles.
* Complete hire check-outs and check-ins, identifying damage and mechanical defects.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
* Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
* Undertake minor and intermediate mechanical repairs.
* Prepare ex-fleet vehicles to a high standard for sale.
* Assist with LOLER preparation and workshop inspections.
* Maintain accurate workshop records and inspection paperwork.
* Work closely with depot manager to maximise fleet availability.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
*About You*
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience as a mechanic, plant fitter, technician, commercial vehicle technician or similar.
* Is confident diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
* Has good all-round mechanical ability.
* Takes pride in producing high-quality work.
* Is organised, reliable and self-motivated.
* Works well independently and as part of a team.
* Holds a full UK driving licence.
Experience with access platforms, commercial vehicles, HGVs, plant machinery or hydraulic equipment would be advantageous, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
