Are you a natural storyteller with creative flair and experience creating engaging internal communications? We are seeking a dynamic Internal Communications Executive to join our team. In this role you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact by playing a pivotal part in enhancing internal communication strategies, driving engagement and facilitating a cohesive work environment. We’re looking for someone who will bring curiosity and a data-led mindset to uncover what works, and turn it into meaningful engagement. Reporting directly to the Head of External Affairs and partnering closely with the Chief People Officer and our Senior Leadership Team, you will lead on initiatives to deliver authentic and engaging internal communication to colleagues globally. This position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.
Responsibilities include:
- Producing all internal communications including our monthly colleague and separate monthly manager updates.
- Maintaining our internal channels including the intranet, Slack, internal newsletters, and Town Hall.
- Structuring and delivering the global Town Halls.
- Working with senior stakeholders and providing them with best practice Internal Communications guidance.
- Creating and delivering internal campaigns that will align colleagues to our key strategies and programmes.
- Delivering internal communications that inspire belief in the Mission, Vision, Objectives and Values of Smart, finding innovative, engaging and compelling ways to connect company wide initiatives across all our offices.
- Handling the internal communication response to crisis situations.
- Organising and running all annual events - Summer/Christmas party and the Smart awards.
Who we are looking for:
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
- Experience of working in an Internal Comms role, managing multiple communications channels (email, Slack, intranet, events, etc).
- Strong communication skills, with exceptional written English, attention to detail, and proficiency in G Suite.
- Ability to build effective relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Data-driven mindset, comfortable using insight and analytics to measure and improve engagement.
- Creative thinking, able to find fresh ways to engage and connect with colleagues.
- Understanding of global communication dynamics, including cultural sensitivity and time zone considerations.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and enhancing employer value propositions.
- A background in a technology business is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the financial services or pensions industry is a plus.
