We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the Smart Pension Master Trust Finance team as we develop and expand our processes and capabilities. We’re looking for a reliable team player, who understands member transactions and is keen to learn and grow, as we seek to professionalise, integrate and build a high performing finance function within a Fintech environment. We’re on an ambitious growth path, so desire and ability to problem solve, with a constant improvement mindset is essential. Reporting to the Financial Controller – Smart Pension Master Trust, and supporting the Finance team, the Accounts Assistant will be based in London with the ability to work from home on a hybrid basis.
What you will do:
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the Master Trust finance functions.
- Processing of daily and monthly payrolls, liaising with 3rd party suppliers and engaging with internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with processing of member contributions, adhering to internal service level agreements for investment.
- Preparation of cashbook entries and journals in Netsuite, including payroll related journals.
- Cash management including monitoring and reconciliation of the scheme bank accounts.
- Preparation of other reconciliations within the team as required.
- Mailbox monitoring and responding to internal queries in a timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation of the quarterly administration report.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support system development with member experience in mind.
Who we are looking for:
- DB or DC pensions experience, or experience in a finance role.
- Currently studying or looking to study AAT, ACCA or CIMA (not essential).
- Experience of Microsoft suite of products including Excel and experience of G-Suite an advantage.
- A high level of diligence and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Proactive with a willingness to learn and a 'can do' attitude.
- Strong communication with high amounts of energy and drive.
- Experience in financial services or technology sectors is beneficial.
- Netsuite and/or Tableau experience beneficial.
