What are we looking for? There are 7 soft skills which are vital for the role of a Trustee in a schools Trust:

- Collaborative – Prepared to listen to and work in partnership with others, understanding the importance of building strong relationships within the board and with staff, parents, pupils, the community, and employers.

- Creative – Able to challenge conventional wisdom, be open-minded about new approaches, and recognize the value of innovation and creative thinking.
We are looking for individuals with at least three years of experience in governance and/or data analysis. Volunteers with some time available during the working day are especially encouraged to apply.
What will you be doing? Our collaborative educational Trust serves a vibrant rural community and is committed to providing the best learning experiences for pupils in our schools: Dobwalls, Landulph, Trewidland Primary, and Liskeard, Looe, Saltash Secondary. We have approximately 3,000 students, 450 staff, and a budget of £17m. We seek to appoint additional Trustees to join the Board. While some experience is advantageous, enthusiasm for creating a safe and inspiring environment for our children is most important.
Trustees are responsible for the general control and management of the Trust's administration. Their core governance functions include:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction
- Holding the Executive Team to account for the educational performance of the Trust’s schools
- Overseeing the financial performance of the Trust and ensuring responsible financial management
