We are looking for a professional, friendly, and reliable Daytime Porter to join our team at a luxury 5-star hotel in Seaham, County Durham. As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a warm, welcoming experience from arrival through to departure. This is a varied and hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in delivering outstanding hospitality and enjoys working in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with luggage.
  • Escort guests to their rooms and provide information about the hotel's facilities and services.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and respond promptly to guest requests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel's entrance, lobby, and public areas.
  • Assist with guest transportation and valet duties where required.
  • Chauffeur guests safely to local destinations using a hotel vehicle when required.
  • Support the Reception and Concierge teams with guest enquiries and requests.
  • Deliver luggage, parcels, amenities, and messages throughout the hotel.
  • Assist with setting up meeting rooms and special events when required.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the high standards expected within a luxury 5-star hotel.

Essential Requirements

  • Full, valid UK driving licence (essential).
  • Confident and competent driver with a good driving record.
  • Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying luggage safely.
  • Flexible to work 3–4 days per week, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
