Smart Manufacturing Solutions are recruiting for a machine operator for our client within Stockton-on-Tees. Have you got what it takes to succeed? The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.
Reporting directly to the Production Team Leader, the candidate is responsible for the following:
- The production of high quality steel components via the operation of CNC Machining Centres, inclusive of:
- Operating machines within a manufacturing environment.
- Steel fettling and hole tolerance work.
- Following part set up sheets.
- Using hand tools such as pin grinders/angle grinders.
- Completion of daily operation, TPM (total preventative/production maintenance) and pre-operation check sheets.
- Documentation completion.
- Manual handling tasks.
- Following engineering drawings.
- Weld repairs.
- Inspect quality of parts to maintain high standards.
- Inspect all equipment to ensure it’s in a safe working condition.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
Shifts:
- Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 6am-14:15pm, Friday 6am-12:45pm
- Backshift (if required) - Monday to Thursday 2:15pm-22:30pm, Friday 12:45pm-19:30pm
- Nightshift (if required) - Sunday 21:30pm - 6am, Monday to Thursday 22:30pm - 6:20am
Essential skills and experience:
- Must have at least 1 year's experience of operating machines within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to accurately fold according to engineering drawings.
- Able to work to deadlines.
- Pro-active approach to work.
- Keen to be part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Willing to learn and develop within the company.
