Smart Manufacturing Solutions are currently recruiting a Fabrication Engineer for one of our clients based within Stockton On Tees. Within this role, you will be working within a multi-skilled engineering team to support production ranging from continuous improvements to the introduction of welding Cobots.
Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with various departments across the group sites to ensure production targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met to meet the requirements of the customer.
- Development and improvement of existing and new fabrication processes and techniques, through the design and implementation of fixtures, jigs, and tooling.
- Analysis of fabrication processes to identify efficiency improvements, reduce waste and optimise labour, through the application of lean manufacturing principles and time and motion studies.
- Provide technical support to production staff and line management.
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and provide solutions.
- Develop and implement training for production staff on new processes, equipment and parts.
- Manage the introduction of new parts into production through the development of resource plans, and collaboration with other departments to ensure process and quality standards are achieved and customer deadlines met.
- Identify and procure necessary fabrication equipment and tools, maintain and calibrate existing fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure all fabrication processes comply with industry standards and regulations, through the promotion of a positive culture of safety and the completion of regular safety audits.
- Monitor and manage department costs in line with product cost targets, whilst also ensuring that annual budgets are achieved.
- Provide a monthly summary of department performance, and present to the wider management team.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through appropriate levels of communication.
Requirements
- Previous experience in improvement exercises within a welding/fabricating environment.
- Minimum of 3 years experience programming welding robots or in new part introduction.
- Time served Welder/Fabricator.
Hours Of Work
Permanent Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 7:00 to 15:30, Friday 6:30 to 13:30.
Salary
Base £35,000 per annum.
