SMS Smart Manufacturing Solutions is currently recruiting an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join one of our clients based in Sunderland. This is a great opportunity to work in a structured, well-organised environment with consistent shifts.
What You ll Be Doing
- Operating a counterbalance forklift safely
- Loading and unloading goods (goods-in and line-side)
- Picking, packing, and scanning materials using RF scanners
- Creating and completing transfer orders
- Checking deliveries against paperwork
- Stacking and storing containers correctly
- Maintaining FIFO and stock accuracy
- Supporting stock takes when required
- Carrying out daily checks and basic upkeep of MHE
- Following SOPs, risk assessments, and safe working practices
- Keeping work areas clean, organised, and to 5S standards
- Reporting any issues or concerns promptly
- Being flexible to support different logistics tasks when needed
What We re Looking For
- Proven experience in a similar forklift/logistics role
- A valid external Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
- Reliable timekeeping and a positive work attitude
