Role Purpose: As a Project Manager at Smart, you will:
- Take full accountability for the planning, delivery, and financial performance of projects.
- Manage budgets and ensure projects meet commercial objectives and profit margins.
- Lead and inspire your project team to deliver safely, on time, and within budget.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Oversee all aspects of project management, from scoping and tendering to handover and closeout.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE, statutory regulations, and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and deliver a strong project pipeline from existing client portfolios.
- Manage labour, contractors, and resources to deliver projects effectively.
- Work closely with developers, designers, and sub-contractors to define project scopes.
- Oversee tenders, bids, and proposals, ensuring full auditability and compliance.
- Take responsibility for P&L performance across multiple projects.
- Build strong client relationships and leverage opportunities for business growth.
- Ensure all health, safety, and compliance standards are consistently met.
- Provide clear reporting to senior management on project progress, risks, and financials.
Education and Training:
- Minimum of 2 A-Levels (or equivalent).
- 2–5 years’ experience in a Project Management role.
- HNC (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- At least 3 years as a lead engineer on commercial/corporate projects.
- Professional membership/accreditation (e.g., MIET, CIBSE).
