A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Shift Engineer on a prestigious contract near Blackfriars. The shift pattern is 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off.

Purpose

As a Shift Engineer at Smart Managed Solutions, you will supervise the day‑to‑day operation of the relevant shift carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works to building systems within the contracted area of responsibility. You will carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown works to all Electrical systems within the site.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and highlight areas for improvement, including concessionary stores and fabric related items.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available for maintenance and reactive works, providing parts inventory and estimated timescales.
  • Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g., Concept, Smart Hub, up to date and close out PPM and reactive tickets with accurate data.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork regarding reactive and breakdown works and pass it without delay to the contract administrator.
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices at all times.
  • Secure all plant rooms under the responsibility of Smart, keeping them clean and tidy.

Education and Training

  • Formally trained in City and Guilds Electrical Installations or equivalent NVQ and Building Services maintenance.
  • Familiar with 18th Edition BS7671 City and Guilds.
