Purpose
As an Electrical Engineer at Smart Managed Solutions, you will operate and manage all engineering assets to support the business, ensuring no unplanned disruptions and focusing on cost-effective methods. You will handle the reactive works process, ensuring timely response and closure of requests in accordance with agreed procedures.
Additionally, you will develop management tools to report on asset and building performance and make improvement recommendations. Your responsibilities include performing PPM, reactive, and breakdown works on all electrical and mechanical systems within the site.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform routine PPM on all electrical plants per site schedules and asset lists.
- Complete reactive tasks, including concessionary stores and fabric items, and suggest improvements.
- Swiftly remedy plant faults and defects to maintain serviceable order.
- Maintain an inventory of suitable spares for maintenance and reactive works, providing parts and timescales for remedial tasks.
- Update the Computer Based Maintenance system (e.g., eLogbook, Concept, Smart Hub) with accurate data for PPM and reactive tickets.
- Complete and promptly submit all paperwork for reactive and breakdown works to the contract administrator.
- Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
- Develop good working relationships with Smart staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Supervise and monitor subcontractors on site.
- Ensure H&S awareness and compliance for all tasks.
- Maintain awareness and compliance with contractual KPI’s/SLA’s.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including the use of uniforms and PPE.
- Maintain a professional image and uphold Smart Managed Solutions' core behaviours.
- Operate a Permit to Work System per Smart Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
- Keep plant rooms locked, clean, and tidy.
- Provide out-of-hours emergency callout cover via a scheduled roster.
