We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our high-profile contract in Liverpool Street. This is a Monday - Friday position working 08:00-17:00.

Purpose:

As a Mechanical Engineer at Smart Managed Solutions, you will be responsible for ensuring all environmental conditions and critical building systems are maintained to the highest standard throughout. You will carry out PPM tasks and reactive and breakdown works to all Mechanical systems within the site. Engineers must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of HVAC, Hot & Cold-Water Systems & Generators which will include the ability to fault find using the production of graphical information and the utilisation of current alarm data. Basic electrical knowledge would be desirable.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.
  • Provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
  • Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices always.
  • Develop a good working relationship with all members of Smart Managed Solutions staff, subcontractors, and the client representatives.
  • Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment, including the wearing of uniform and PPE.
  • Ensure the professional image of Smart Managed Solutions is always presented to clients.
  • Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Smart Managed Solutions are locked at all times and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Supervise and monitor sub-contractors' works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
  • Complete tasks as directed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance to the contractual KPIs/SLAs.
  • Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Maximo, up to date and ensure PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
  • Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Smart Managed Solutions Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements (or approved client system).

Education and Training:

Formally trained in a mechanical engineering discipline (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing) to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 2.
