Be part of the Smart Team! We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager - Hard Services to join our growing team on a high-profile contract in London. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role based within an iconic London building.

Role Purpose: The Contract Manager will be responsible for the operational delivery, commercial management and continuous improvement of hard services (electrical and mechanical) across the contract. You will ensure service level agreements are met, guide the engineering team, manage client relationships and deliver safe, compliant and cost-effective maintenance solutions.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the contract delivery for hard services including PPM, reactive and breakdown works to electrical and mechanical systems (e.g. UPS, generators, LV distribution, HVAC and associated plant).
- Act as the primary client contact for operational matters, building strong relationships, attending governance meetings and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with statutory requirements, site rules and company policies, including the preparation and review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Manage and develop the on-site engineering team, providing coaching, performance management and ensuring competence and training records are maintained.
- Oversee the Computer-Based Maintenance System to ensure accurate scheduling, logging and closure of PPM and reactive tickets, and that all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Monitor asset performance and condition, develop management tools and reports to identify trends, and recommend improvements to increase reliability and reduce cost.
- Manage contract budgets, cost control and commercial administration including variations, invoicing support and supplier performance.
- Co-ordinate third-party contractors and supply chain, ensuring works are delivered to the required standard and in line with contract procedures.
- Ensure inventory of critical spares is maintained and provide oversight of procurement activities to support timely remedial works.
- Drive continuous improvement, implement best practice, and support sustainability initiatives across the contract.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience managing hard services contracts within a facilities management, data centre or commercial estate environment.
- Formally trained in an electrical or mechanical engineering discipline to City and Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical qualification.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, UPS, generators, LV systems and site alarm/SCADA systems, with the ability to interpret technical data and graphical information.
- Experience of managing teams, contractors and delivering against KPI/SLAs.
- Commercial acumen with experience of budget management and contract administration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present findings and reports to clients and senior management.
